Birla Brainiacs is offering free homeschooling to underprivileged kids because they believe that learning won’t stop no matter what. No matter what, every child is entitled to the right to education. Underprivileged kids are those who do not have the privilege to have access to a normal standard of living. India is the seventh-largest country in the world known for speedily growing its economy yet children in large numbers don’t have the privilege of an average standard of living and have to experience some very poor living conditions. These kids are helpless and have to face several issues like illiteracy, abuse, and malnutrition because of the financial burdens of their parents and family members. Poverty issues like these lead children to miss out on life opportunities to bloom into successful and unrestrained grown-ups. It has become vital to have an energetic support system that projects to improvise the lives of millions of innocent youngsters who have been struggling to live a usual common life. It’s high time we come forward and discuss these challenges overtly and provide them with much-needed assistance.
Problems that underprivileged kids have to go through
- Child Labor
Regardless of issuing so many social reforms and passing laws, child labour still continues to be one of India’s biggest problems in the backward villages. People from the underprivileged section of society keep their children away from educating them and force them to work and earn money. While many of us had the privilege to choose the schools and colleges we wanted to be in, these uneducated children didn’t even have the privilege to complete their basic schooling. Child labour is also seen as the whole and sole survival mode of these homeless children living on the streets. These guiltless children are not only tortured mentally but also physically and are abused by their employers. They are involuntarily forced to work long shifts and are barely given any time to recline. This kind of behaviour at an early age leaves an immeasurable impression on their lives.
- Malnutrition
Over the past few years, we have seen a steep rise in the Indian economy. Sadly, it is still home to millions of children who are malnourished. Even after putting innumerable efforts and resources into child welfare programs, our country India still ranks amongst the worst affected countries when we talk about child malnutrition. People in India tend to choose a carbohydrate-rich diet which usually causes a deficiency of protein leading to malnutrition among kids.
- Diminutive growth
The National Family Health Survey has estimated that more than 61 million children in India suffer from stunted growth. Not just starvation and hunger, but there are several other factors too that contribute to this issue. Issues like lack of sanitation, lack of awareness, and poor maternal health. The government has been working in collaboration with various NGOs and social groups to raise awareness about the same concern and encourage people to put emphasis on consuming a well-balanced diet and cleanliness.
